Slikk, the innovative startup promising to deliver fashion in just 60 minutes, has successfully secured $300,000 in a pre-seed funding round. This initial investment was led by Better Capital, with additional participation from Untitledxyz Ventures. The funding will be pivotal for Slikk as it sets its sights on scaling operations and transforming the fast fashion industry.
Founded by Akshay Gulati, Slikk aims to revolutionize the fast fashion landscape by catering to the impulsive shopping habits of Gen Z and young millennials. These demographics are known for their desire for frequent trend updates and rapid delivery, a demand Slikk is poised to meet with its unique offering. “Gen Zs and young millennials today are extremely impulsive shoppers and the biggest target group for fast fashion brands. This impulse is driven by high-frequency refreshment of trends and designs and faster delivery,” Gulati noted.
To address this need, Slikk plans to use the new funds to broaden its product lineup to include over 100 brands, establish a large-format dark store, and enhance its delivery coverage to 70% of Bengaluru’s pin codes. This expansion is designed to offer a swift and fresh shopping experience, with new trends and designs arriving weekly, providing a stark contrast to traditional fashion marketplaces.
In addition to fashion, Slikk has ambitious plans to extend its offerings into beauty, personal care, and home decor. This move aims to meet the diverse lifestyle needs of its target customers, creating a comprehensive shopping experience under one roof. Moreover, the startup is eyeing growth beyond Bengaluru, with future expansion into other metropolitan areas across the country.
